Poem from grateful patient.

Poem from grateful patient.

All things bright and beautiful
My left eye now can see,
Thanks to my eye surgeon who’s

Restored my sight to me.
Each plant that’s in my garden,
And every tiny seed
That forms within their flowers.
And EVERY BLOODY WEED.

All things bright and beautiful :
Our glorious Village Green,
Miles and miles of countryside
So vast, so long unseen.
The cattle in the meadow,
The horse by stable door,
And all the shit around them
That I’LL TREAD IN NO MORE.

All things bright and beautiful
My Surgeon’s brought to me.
What I saw by ‘candlelight’
Is now by L.E.D.
The tarnish on the silver,
The metalware with rust,
The bits I haven’t hoovered,
And EVERY SPECK OF DUST.

All things bright and beautiful
My right eye still can’t view…
Never mind. My surgeon soon
Will make that better, too!

Written by a grateful patient.
